This could have been bad...

This morning Megan got in some trouble because she drew all over some of my cardstock. I'm not sure when she did it, but knew it was her. She does this thing now when she does something wrong, and gets caught, she goes directly to her room, closes the door and cries. I find it very humorous even though I am quite upset. So I went about finishing up what I was doing. A few minutes later I notice she stopped crying, but didn't come out of her room. She is good about distracting herself. In fact one time I walked in and hit her with the door because she was camped out with her bebe and blanket. Anyway, 10 minutes had gone by and I thought, "I should probably go in there to see how she's doing." You know tell her all is well. I stopped short not wanting to disturb the silence, but again thought I should go see her. As I opened the door she was standing close to the bathroom door that's in her bedroom. When she turned around she had something all over her mouth and something in her hand. I couldn't' figure it out at first, but I quickly recognized that stuff on her mouth was blood and the thing in her hand was a shaving razor. I was stunned. First of all this was not mine or Adams razor which means it was left behind by the previous owners. We did redo the bathroom, but Adam has kept tools under the sink so I haven't bothered to do anything with the cabinet. She immediately knew something was wrong, head down, but she didn't appear to be in any pain. I took the razor away grabbed her and realized she had a nick that was bleeding pretty good, but it wasn't deep.

I am so glad I walked in there. Who knows what she would have done. I am so glad I listen to what I now know was my maternal instincts. Man, it is such a weird feeling when you realize you've just diverted disaster.

Holy cow- I am so glad she is okay Amy, and so glad you followed your instincts on this one. Mya plays in her room all the time by herself and I find that I check on her probably far too often because I fear something like this happening. How weird that she found a razor too!

What in the world? What else is under that sink? That was a close call.

That is so lucky that you found her when you did. I often worry about things like that laying around. My husband is the WORST at leaving this like that. Knives hanging over the edge of the countertop, etc. I am so glad adorable Megan is ok. Weird that I can't picture her room or your house in my mind when I read that story (since I haven't seen it finished in person).

Oh my gosh! She probably had no idea what was going on and it probably didn't hurt, razors are so sharp ( that was a duh comment). I glad she's ok and you followed through with your instincts.
